Sarah and Steve headed to a boiling Washington D.C (+40°C) on the 12-16th of July in order to present work from the SpermNMR project.
While there they had a look at the White house (only from the outside), saw the pandas conceived by assisted fertilisation in the zoo and had some great discussions about science.
Sarah had a talk on the Sunday discussing the differences between high and low quality sperm (surprisingly we have seen higher metabolite concentrations in the poor sperm).
Steve had a flash talk and presented a poster about how fast sperm can metabolise highly magnetised sugar (a technique called hyperpolarised) which got a lot of interest from scientists interested in new technologies.
